How do I get academic regalia?
Contact the Office of Academic Affairs. Teresa Smith will take orders for renting regalia during the summer of each academic year. She will notify you when it arrives, always in time for our Opening Celebration. You can pick it up from her and give her a check at the same time. You return it to Teresa after Commencement.Academic regalia can be purchased at the Barnes & Noble Georgia Tech Bookstore. Can I have my photographs taken in academic dress if I dont attend the ceremony?
Yes. You should make your booking with your photographer and then contact Regalia Craft to arrange to hire the regalia (Ph: 08 9328 4194)A letter will be mailed to each student's permanent address that has applied for graduation. This letter gives details of how and where to pick up cap and gown and have professional photos taken. When and where do I need to order my regalia (cap and gown)?
The Tech bookstore will have a designated week approximately 6-8 weeks before commencement where you can visit with a representative and order graduation announcements, rings, frames and your regalia. Do I need to arrive at the Colonial Center wearing my academic regalia?
Yes, degree candidates should be dressed in his/her academic regalia when they arrive at the Colonial Center on the day of the commencement exercises. Only degree candidates attired in appropriate academic regalia will be permitted to participate in the ceremony. Academic regalia consists of a mortarboard cap, academic gown, and tassel; and in the case of a graduate degree candidate, an academic hood.Contact the Office of Academic Affairs.
